Mr. CHOO Yam Wai（朱炎辉）, 笔名朱鲁大，1932年出生于马来西亚首府吉隆坡，中小学均在华校接受教育，1952年毕业于吉隆坡尊孔中学，1959年南洋大学中文系第一届毕业生。 1961-1963年在马来亚大学新加坡分校图书馆任图书馆助理员，1964-1967年为南洋大学图书馆助理员，1967年获美国国务院奖助“东西文化交流奖学金”，赴夏威夷大学图书馆管理研究院攻读硕士学位。1969年秋学成后，受邀任职于夏威夷大学图书馆亚洲藏书部，专事搜集中文出版物，并为该大学教职员和学生提供参考和咨询服务。1971年4月至1993年，返新任职于新加坡国立大学图书馆，任该馆日本资料部主任。夫人为张淑清（Chong Shook Chin），育有二子永康、永年。 朱先生工作余暇，以读书探求中国近代名人逸事为至乐事，同时也是军迷尤其是战机同好者。2022年4月上旬，分两批总计交了143箱书给福昌物流公司运到马校。
