Mr. TAN Keng Lai（陈庆来）, 陈庆来出生于新加坡，幼年丧父，家境清寒。中学就读中正中学，1965年考入南洋大学历史系。在佛教施诊所奖学金资助下完成学业。在校期间，担任历史学会会长，出版会刊《读史杂记》。1969年底加入《星洲日报》任编辑，1979年成为编辑组主任。星洲南洋两报合并后，1985年起任《联合早报》编辑组主任，直至退休。退休后热心公益，在樟宜监狱做义工15年。
