Foon Yew Foundation（宽柔基金会）, 为了强化服务于独中的教师福利，于是在1981年2月，新山华社元老丹斯里郭鹤尧、拿督叶金福、萧畹香先生、李金权先生、黄复生先生、郑合璧先生、巫良钞先生、曾振强先生、陈燕鸣先生、洪细俤先生、辜汉初先生及丹斯里刘南辉十二位热心华教的人士发起了筹组教育基金，成立信托理事会。于1981年11月26日，依据1965年公司法令，十二名发起人联名向当局提出申请，以宽柔基金会之名成立无股本有限保证公司。于1982年1月20日申请获得批准，于是宽柔基金会遂正式展开运作，为服务于教育机构的教职员谋福利。宽柔基金会属独立组织，拥有独立的操作权。基金会的规章是要为服务于教育机构的教职员谋福利，并协助清寒学子完成教育。于1984年，时任工商部长通令本基金会修改部分组织章程。在基金会信托法令的条文下，基金会的款额不得用作发展任何建校或扩建校舍计划，以及为任何一间教育院校支付其全部或部分不敷之经常费。 简言之宽柔基金会的两大功能为： *发放福利金予服务于教育机构的退休教职员 *提供奖助学金予清寒学子 http://foonyewfoundation.org/about-us/
